We renew your child's SimplyGo concession every November.
A homeschooled child at primary level keeps student fares only if a parent sends SimplyGo a signed form every year. Miss it and the concession lapses: adult fares, and $8.10 for a new card.
Sign up once. It's free, and run by a homeschooling parent. Then, every year:
- 1 November: we email to ask if your child is still homeschooled next year.
- You tap yes and sign with your finger. No tap, nothing is sent (one reminder comes on 5 November).
- From 8 November we email SimplyGo your signed form, with you on copy. It can take a few days: we send one family at a time.
- SimplyGo replies to you. Tap the card at a SimplyGo kiosk or ticket office when they say so.
Who it's for
Children in Singapore who are homeschooled at primary level with an MOE exemption and already hold a Non-MOE School Smart Card with the primary home-schooler concession. The last renewal is in November of the year your child turns 11; it keeps the concession until 31 December of the year they turn 12, their Primary 6 year. Secondary-level homeschoolers use a different SimplyGo scheme, which this service doesn't cover.
What SimplyGo receives
One email per child from renewals@sghomeschoolcommunity.com, in your name, with the form (“Appendix G”) filled in, signed by you and dated the day you confirmed. You're on copy, and their reply comes to you. If our email to SimplyGo fails three times, we send you the signed form to forward yourself.
